Responsibilities

As part of the program, you will gain exposure to various engineering disciplines based on your academic background. For the 2024/2025 intake, the following areas are available:

  • Electrical Engineering: Exposure to switchgear testing (Primary, Secondary, Modular, and Commissioning), as well as electrical and mechanical design work related to switchgears.
  • Mechanical Engineering: Hands-on experience in basic design, drafting, and understanding the electrical and mechanical functioning of electrical motors.
  • Control and Instrumentation: Involvement in control systems, field instrumentation, actuators, and the design and commissioning of Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Industrial Engineering: Opportunities to work in factory operations, time studies, and process improvements.
  • Computer Engineering: Engaging with ABB Ability, contributing to the development and promotion of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Throughout the program, you will embody ABB’s core values, which emphasize safety and integrity in all aspects of work. You will take responsibility for your actions while supporting your colleagues and the organization.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Engineer in Training program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • BSc, B-Tech, or BEng degree in one of the following fields: Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Computer Engineering.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, creativity, and innovation.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, along with a high degree of self-confidence and eagerness to learn.
