The Agricultural Research Council is seeking candidates for an internship in Agro-Processing and Product Development, located in Roodeplaat. This position is a fixed-term contract with a duration of twenty-four (24) months.
The internship is designed to provide support to researchers working in the areas of postharvest management, agro-processing, and product development. Participants in the program will gain exposure to various research methodologies and practical applications within these fields.
Interns will be required to:
- Capture and process technical data for subsequent analysis.
- Prepare and deliver reports on activities to the supervising researcher.
- Oversee the management of laboratory facilities, ensuring the proper maintenance of materials and equipment.
- Engage in scientific marketing events and partake in technology transfer initiatives.
Candidates must possess an advanced diploma (NQF 7) or a master’s degree (NQF 9) in Food Science or a related discipline. Essential skills include:
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Strong communication capabilities.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Adherence to human resources policies and safety protocols.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is advantageous but not mandatory.
