The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), an agency of the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition (dtic), is committed to supporting youth skills development by offering recent graduates opportunities to gain essential work experience. This 12-month internship program is based at CIPC’s Sunnyside Office in Pretoria and is designed to help interns apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting.

The CIPC Corporate Education and Voluntary Compliance Internship offers hands-on experience in corporate communications, compliance, and media management. This program is intended for graduates seeking to apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world environment, enhancing both their practical skills and professional growth.

Responsibilities

Interns in this program will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies for corporate education and compliance.
  • Support media relations, digital communications, and public relations initiatives.
  • Participate in voluntary compliance projects and other related tasks within the division.
  • Collaborate with various teams to contribute to CIPC’s mission of promoting transparency and compliance.
  • Utilize digital communication tools to enhance CIPC’s public engagement and outreach.
Qualifications

Hold a three-year Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:

  • Digital Communication
  • Media Studies
  • Communications
  • Journalism
  • Public Relations

To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • South African citizenship and a clean criminal record.
  • Age between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), if applicable.
