The Eastern Cape Department of Community Safety is pleased to announce the availability of a Financial Management Internship for the 2024/2025 to 2025/2026 fiscal year. This internship offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates who aspire to gain practical experience in financial management within a governmental context. The program is strictly for a non-renewable period of 24 months and is hosted in Gqeberha.

This comprehensive internship program is designed to provide significant exposure to the operational and strategic aspects of financial management within the Department. It is aimed at empowering young graduates with the necessary skills and experience to excel in their professional careers. The program targets unemployed graduates aged between 18 and 35 who hold a relevant degree or national diploma.

Responsibilities

Interns will engage in various financial management tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Conducting audits and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Assisting in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
  • Participating in budgeting and financial planning processes.
  • Supporting cost and management accounting functions.
  • Engaging in financial reporting and record-keeping.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Financial Accounting.
  • Degree in Accounting.
  • Degree in Auditing.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Financial Management.
  • Degree in Cost and Management Accounting.

Only candidates who have not previously participated in an internship program are eligible to apply.
