The internship program is based in Johannesburg and offers participants the opportunity to develop their expertise within one of Genesis's practice areas, which include the Centre of Digital Excellence, Climate Finance and Economics, Competition and Regulatory Economics, Evaluation for Development, Financial Services Strategy, Health, Human Development, and Shared Value and Impact. Responsibilities

Interns collaborate with Genesis colleagues in teams to assist clients in unlocking value. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting rigorous data analysis using both conceptual and quantitative methods.
  • Applying specialized logic and problem-solving skills.
  • Preparing comprehensive and logically structured documentation.
  • Performing project-related research and data sourcing.
  • Cleaning and tailoring data for project-specific needs.
  • Ensuring data accuracy through meticulous vetting.
  • Engaging in client interactions and negotiations.
  • Contributing to the development of intellectual capacity and property.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess postgraduate degrees in disciplines such as Economics, Development Studies, International Development, Public Policy, Policy Evaluation, Public Health (Epidemiology), Health Economics, Behavioral Science, PPE, Sustainability, Climate Change, Global Studies, or Program Evaluation. A Master’s degree in any of these fields is advantageous.
