Johannesburg Pikitup (SOC) Limited is establishing a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Internship Programme aimed at creating a comprehensive database of students requiring practical work experience to complete their academic studies. This initiative seeks to satisfy the increasing demand from tertiary institutions for students to gain essential on-the-job exposure, either as a prerequisite for obtaining an academic qualification or as a requisite for experiential training post-qualification.

The WIL Internship Programme for the 2024/2025 period is structured to provide students with immersive learning experiences across various fields. It encompasses a range of disciplines essential for developing practical skills and knowledge pertinent to their academic and professional growth. The programme duration will not exceed 18 months, allowing for a thorough engagement with the industry.

Responsibilities

Interns will be placed in specific departments aligned with their field of study, such as Finance, Supply Chain Management, Audit and Risk, Waste Management, Landfill, Occupational Health and Safety, Communications/Marketing, Human Resources, Customer Services, Business Planning and Reporting, and Legal and Compliance. Participants will undertake tasks relevant to their areas, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the department's objectives.

Qualifications

Eligible candidates must be South African citizens, aged 35 or younger, residing in Johannesburg, and must not have participated in a similar programme previously. Applicants are required to be unemployed, ensuring the opportunity targets those in need of practical work experience to complement their academic qualifications.
