Description

South African Airways (SAA) is currently offering Cabin Crew opportunities for the 2024/2025 period. The position entails ensuring the safety of passengers and delivering a superior customer experience in accordance with SAA’s service standards. Cabin Crew members are expected to comply with specific service procedures and operational duties tailored to the aircraft type in use, ensuring an uncompromised customer experience throughout the flight. Members are required to follow the directives of the Senior Cabin Crew Member (SCCM) and address any customer disputes efficiently while upholding the company’s brand image.

Cabin Crew members are instrumental in promoting the corporate brand and maintaining the company’s goodwill. The role involves adhering to established standard operating procedures and reporting directly to the Purser on all aircraft. Compliance with company standards is mandatory, with any deviations being reported to the Purser or Commander.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing strategies within their area of responsibility.
  • Supporting the execution of the Inflight Operations strategy.
  • Assisting in budget management and cost control on-board.
  • Ensuring process and system adherence.
  • Utilizing resources efficiently in line with customer requirements.
  • Upholding Governance and Risk Management policies.
  • Partaking in continuous optimization initiatives.
  • Overseeing customer and crew safety.
  • Managing emergency situations and inflight medical emergencies.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements include:

  • A Grade 12 Certificate.
  • A relevant three-year Diploma at NQF level 6 is advantageous.
  • A Cabin Crew Member (CCM) qualification obtained within the past five years is preferable.
  • Be fluent in English and capable of swimming.
  • Maintain a weight proportional to height, with a minimum height of 1.58m and a maximum body mass index of 35.
  • Fit within the aisle of the aircraft.
  • Possess additional language skills, reliable transport, and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Be well-groomed and free of visible tattoos.
  • Be South African nationals with no criminal record, over the age of 18, and holders of a valid South African identity document.
  • Undergo a security check and medical examination.
