The position is an integral part of the Commercial Division at Smith+Nephew, specifically within the Commercial Graduate Internship Programme for the years 2024 and 2025. The role necessitates collaboration with the team to support the Pricing Manager by managing price files and addressing customer pricing inquiries. Additionally, the intern will assist the BBBEE Specialist in maintaining the BBBEE EE & SD Policy, along with its deliverables. A key responsibility includes working with the Tender’s team to facilitate the sourcing, preparation, and submission of all tenders and associated documentation.
This internship program is designed to provide practical experience within the commercial sector of Smith+Nephew. Participants will engage in various activities that enhance their understanding of commercial operations, pricing strategies, and compliance with BBBEE policies. The program aims to equip interns with the skills necessary to thrive in a commercial environment.
Interns will be required to:
- Maintain current pricing files and manage pricing inquiries to minimize errors.
- Submit tenders effectively and in a timely manner, track awards or non-awards, and conduct follow-ups on all escalations and price escalations within set deadlines.
- Collaborate with the B-BBEE Consultant to develop a plan for learnerships.
- Ensure all commercial administrative tasks are up to date.
Eligible candidates should possess the following:
- A completed Matric and a tertiary diploma or degree.
- High proficiency in computer applications.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel is essential.
