The CIB Technology Graduate Programme, situated in Johannesburg on Baker Street 30, forms an integral part of the Corporate and Investment Banking segment. This full-time position. The role is pivotal in providing digital financial products and services, which are essential for the success of our franchise in a dynamic global landscape. CIB Technology serves as the technological foundation for Global Markets, Transaction Banking, and Investment Banking, facilitating complex transactions and supporting non-retail entities such as banks, public institutions, and corporations.

This graduate program is designed to attract and develop individuals with technical prowess who aspire to become thought leaders and trusted partners. The curriculum combines theoretical instruction with practical exposure through multiple rotations, offering a comprehensive understanding of the CIB Technology business lifecycle. Participants will delve into experience design, aiming to challenge conventional practices and enhance client interactions within the financial services sector.

Responsibilities

As part of the Experience Design Graduate Programme, participants will:

  • Innovate and design intuitive digital platforms and products to improve client banking experiences.
  • Collaborate with various teams to convert user insights and business needs into innovative design solutions.
  • Employ advanced design tools to prototype, iterate, and refine user interfaces.
  • Advocate for user-centric design principles, fostering a culture of continual enhancement and excellence.

Qualifications

Applicants should have completed, or be in the process of completing, a postgraduate qualification in Design Studies, Information Systems, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, or a related field. The following experiences and skills are advantageous:

  • Participation in workshops, conferences, or online courses related to finance and design.
  • Up to two years of experience in a design-related role, ideally within the finance sector or a corporate environment. Experience in startups or design agencies is beneficial.
  • Submission of an online portfolio demonstrating design work, including web and mobile platforms, user interfaces, experience flows, and interactive prototypes.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch, with familiarity in prototyping tools like Figma and a basic understanding of front-end technologies.
