As a Government Engagement Intern, you will contribute to our goal of driving policy and regulatory advancements that promote the growth of electronic payments. This internship is designed for individuals who want to make a tangible difference in the world while gaining critical skills in policy advocacy, strategic partnership development, and digital payment innovation.
As a Government Engagement Intern, you will assist the team in several key areas:
- Collaborate with local GE professionals and industry associations to create strategies and engagement plans aimed at increasing financial inclusion and digital payments.
- Support partners such as issuers, acquirers, fintechs, and merchants in understanding payment regulations, in coordination with the Government Engagement lead.
- Monitor, analyze, and develop responses to regulations that may impact Visa and the digital payments industry.
- Identify strategic business issues and opportunities for Visa and its clients, with guidance from the GE team.
- Record and share best practices to promote the adoption of digital payments.
To be eligible for this internship, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or IT, with a graduation date in 2026 (coursework completed by December 2025).
- Available to participate in a 3-month winter internship from 3 June 2025 to 28 August 2025.
- Must be available to join Visa in a full-time role by January 2026.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. - Advanced analytical and financial analysis skills.
Excellent collaboration abilities, especially when working with a diverse peer group. - Ability to articulate viewpoints effectively to gain stakeholder buy-in.
