Job Description:

Accountable for effectively managing projects and contracts within the capital programmer, taking charge of the technical, administrative, contractual, and financial aspects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow procurement policies and CIDB legislation to acquire resources.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure work aligns with plans.
  • Supervise contractors and consultants based on contract terms, GCC, specifications, and legal requirements.
  • Assess consultants’ Bill of Quantity for project scope and market relevance.
  • Verify and process payment certificates from contractors and consultants.
  • Develop project cost and cash flow plans prior to project commencement.
  • Prepare and present Bid Committee reports and conduct tender briefings.
  • Collaborate with Johannesburg Water stakeholders to review design reports.
  • Add new services to GIS.
  • Monitor expenses against budget and report potential over- or under-expenditure to the Investment Manager.
  • Create project plans using MS Projects and track progress.

  • Prepare departmental contributions for JWater 3-year Strategic Plan and Annual Business Plans.
  • Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures for the department.
  • Attend regular meetings with department heads to brief on policies and performance.
  • Review section structure and recommend improvements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (NQF 7)
  • Registered Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
  • 8 years in civil engineering, including 3 years in project management and 2 years in managerial roles.

4.TEAM LEADER DATA MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure staff is equipped to provide effective services based on identified needs and planned programs.
  • Ensure proper utilization of equipment and resources.
  • Ensure staff reports all related problems to relevant depots within 60 days.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
  • 5 years of experience in data management in various fields.
  • Experience in account management, billing and revenue, customer liaison, credit control and refunds, meter reading maintenance, data updates, and service adjustments.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word and Excel)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
