Overview:
The IWMI Internship Program aims at exposing interns to cutting-edge research in water management coupled with fieldwork. It offers an opportunity for interns to work along top specialists on significant projects aimed at enhancing water resource policies and management.
Responsibilities:
- As an IWMI intern, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist in conducting research on innovative water management strategies and technologies.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to water resources, agricultural practices, and environmental impact.
- Support the drafting of reports, policy briefs, and research papers.
- Participate in field visits to observe and document water management practices in various contexts.
- Collaborate with IWMI staff and stakeholders on ongoing projects.
- Present findings and recommendations to the research team.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the IWMI Internship, candidates shall have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Water Resources Management, Agriculture or other relevant field of study.
- Strong analytical skills necessary for conducting research activities.
- Ability for data analysis using GIS software which can be a plus as well as proficiency in it.
- Good oral written communication skills are required for report writing presentation among other skills needed for this job type.
- Self-drive towards personal development working with people from different fields.
- Having a strong passion around making sure that there is clean safe drinking water all over Africa.
Requirements:
Interns must commit themselves for at least 3 months but with possibilities extending further based on performance or project requirements. They should be able self-motivated enough while paying attention even when they’re handling various tasks at a time. Need to be able to travel in the field to different places of work.
