The PathCare Academy is pleased to announce the Phlebotomy Technician Learnership Programme for the academic year 2024/2025. This program is designed for matriculants who are scheduled to write their National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams in 2024 and meet specific academic criteria. Successful applicants will undergo comprehensive training to qualify as Phlebotomy Technicians.
This learnership combines theoretical instruction with practical training. Theoretical sessions will be conducted at PathCare Academy campuses located in Cape Town, Bloemfontein, and Pretoria. Practical training will occur at various PathCare depots throughout South Africa, providing learners with a well-rounded educational experience in phlebotomy.
Participants in the program will be expected to:
- Engage actively in both theoretical and practical training sessions.
- Develop proficiency in collecting and processing blood and body products.
- Provide high-quality service and responsiveness to customer needs.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and work independently when required.
- Manage work demands efficiently, including working shifts and after-hours as necessary.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a South African ID.
- Achieve a minimum of 50% in Life Science/Biology with a minimum of 40% in Mathematics or 60% in Math Literacy in their June 2024 results.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Show the ability to read, write, and understand basic Afrikaans.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure.
