About:
The Western Cape Department of Education (WCED) is South Africa’s primary government department that manages and enhances the education system in the province of the Western Cape. The first priority of it is to manage public schools, enforce national and provincial education policy, and provide a quality education for students from different backgrounds. The WCED has become known for programs like the eLearning program that teaches using technology to help teach and learn. It also addresses issues of literacy and numeracy, teacher training and educational inequity. Overview:
The Youth Internship Programme targets graduates of 35 to 34 years old and helps in preparing them with skills for their career. Candidate will be paid R7,450.75 per month as stipend for the duration of internship. Interns will assist staff in general administrative and office work. Job Description: You’ll be performing research, data entry, filing, and general coordination. Assisting the chosen office in administrative tasks will be performed by interns.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting other staff with office work.
- Research and data entry as needed.
- Filing, file-keeping, office filing.
- Administration and coordination support / general.
Requirements:
- Computer knowledge of MS Office suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), e-mail and the Internet.
- Very good in interpersonal skills and listening skills.
- Good at information collection and interpretation.
- Skilled in writing and speaking two official languages of the Western Cape.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have an NQF 6 or 7 qualification (Diploma/Degree) in specified disciplines:
- NQF 8 (3 or 4 years degree) in Psychology or Social Work.
